PT Hostage

  • Category: Steel Target
  • Brand: Action Target

Description

Challenge your accuracy with the simulated hostage scenario designed to create accountability for every missed shot.

Hitting your target can be challenging, but when there’s a no-shoot target in the way, it can get a whole lot more difficult. The PT Hostage not only trains you to hit your target, but teaches you to avoid what you’re not supposed to shoot. This reactive system is great for training accuracy and speed, and the immediate feedback of clanging steel reinforces good shooting habits.

The PT Hostage is made of through hardened AR550 armor steel and has a perfectly flat shooting surface with no exposed bolts, clamps, or brackets making it perfect for tactical handgun drills or rifle training from appropriate distances*. The brackets on the back of the head plate are also made of armor steel (AR500) to prolong the life of the target and prevent malfunctions that can come from wear and tear due to the friction of the swinging plate.

NOTE: The stand and feet are made of mild steel and are not intended to withstand the force of a bullet. Shooting the stand and feet may result in damage.

FAQs

Can I get my PT Hostage in handgun grade AR500 armor steel?: The PT Hostage only comes in rifle grade AR550 steel. However, the reactive swinging plate is engineered to work equally well with handgun rounds and rifle rounds.

Can I mount the PT Hostage target head to the Evil Roy stand?: Yes. All of Action Target’s target heads are interchangeable, but when attaching heavier head plates like the PT Hostage, make sure to attach it on the stand’s lower setting to prevent the target from becoming unstable while shooting.

What stand height should I get?: We recommend a 3’ stand for most training scenarios. If the target is placed on a 4’ stand, there is a greater chance of it becoming too top heavy and falling over during shooting.

Is the entire target made of armor steel?: The head plate, reactive swinging plate, and rear brackets are all made of armor steel. The rear brackets are made of AR500 armor steel to prevent wear and tear from the friction of the reactive swinging plate. The stand is made of mild steel, but is designed to effectively shed bullets.
